Welcome to nysolarincentives.org ("Website"). By using this Website you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms") and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to them, please do not use the site.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: nysolarincentives.org is a private publisher and is NOT a government agency, nor is it affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by NYSERDA, the State of New York, or the Federal Government.
1. What this site is
This Website publishes guides to New York State and federal solar incentives. The guides are free to read and ungated: no email address, no phone number, no account.
We do not sell solar panels, we do not install systems, we do not arrange financing, and we do not operate a referral or lead-generation service. No form here passes your details to installation companies, and we receive no referral fees. An earlier version of these Terms described such a service, along with a consent to marketing and automated calls; neither exists, and that consent is withdrawn.
The contact form stores your message in this site's own database. It is not e-mailed out, sold, or shared with installers.
2. Eligibility
By using this Website you confirm that you are at least 18 and have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.
3. No professional advice
Everything here — incentive amounts, tax credits such as the federal ITC, NY-Sun block levels, payback estimates and any calculator on the site — is general information, not financial, legal or tax advice. Programmes change, block levels fill, and your own numbers depend on your roof, your usage and your utility. Verify anything that matters with NYSERDA, the IRS, your utility, your installer and your own tax advisor before you rely on it.
4. No guarantee of savings or eligibility
Estimates on this site are illustrations, not offers or approvals. Nothing here entitles you to an incentive, and we do not decide who qualifies for one.
5. Links to other sites
We link to government programme pages, utilities and other sources. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their handling of your data.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, nysolarincentives.org and N.Y Group Media are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, this Website, or from any action you take based on information published here.
7. Your submissions
Please give accurate information when you write to us, and do not send us anything confidential or anyone else's personal data. We may decline to answer messages that are abusive or automated.
8. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
9. Changes
If the site ever adds a service that shares your details with anyone, these Terms and the Privacy Policy will say so before a form asks for them, and the "Last Updated" date above will change.
