Effective October 18, 2026. This policy covers only the NY Solar Incentives app inside ChatGPT. Our website has its own privacy policy.

Who runs the app

The app is published by NY Solar Incentives (nysolarincentives.org), which is run by Noam Yakov. Questions: contact page.

What the app receives

When ChatGPT uses the app to answer you, it sends our server only what the calculation needs:

  • the New York county;
  • the electric utility, when you name it;
  • your average monthly electric bill or a system size in kW;
  • optionally, a quoted installed price and your own price per kWh.

The app never asks for your name, address, email, phone number or account details, and it does not use cookies. ChatGPT may attach technical details to each request, such as your language, an approximate location and an anonymous identifier. The app does not read, keep or use them.

What we do with it

Our server works out the estimate in memory from public data (NYSERDA, EIA and the New York Tax Department), sends the result back to ChatGPT, and keeps nothing. The figures you send are not saved in a database, not written to log files, not used to build a profile and not combined with any other data.

Technical logs

Like every website, our server and our network provider (Cloudflare) record ordinary request data for each call: the address of the computer that sent it (for this app, one of OpenAI’s servers, not your device), the time, the page address and the result code. These logs do not contain your county, bill or any other figure you send. We keep server logs for about 15 days to keep the service running and to block abuse.

The card shown in ChatGPT

The result card runs inside ChatGPT. It loads nothing from our website or anyone else’s and sends nothing anywhere. If you choose to open the calculator page on nysolarincentives.org, our website privacy policy applies to that visit.

Who receives data

No one. We do not sell, rent or share what the app receives. The only other parties involved are the companies that carry the request: OpenAI, under its own privacy policy, and Cloudflare and our hosting provider, which process the technical request data described above on our behalf.

How long we keep it

The figures you send: not kept. Server logs: about 15 days.

Your choices

Because the app stores nothing about you, there is nothing to access, correct or delete. You can stop using the app at any time in your ChatGPT settings. For any privacy question, write to us through the contact page.

Children

The app is a general-information calculator. It is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If the app ever starts keeping any data, we will update this page before that happens and change the date at the top.
